The new Custom, Immigration and Quarantine
Complex building is expected to be occupied by the
user departments from 1st July 2007.
There are 17 departments occupying the office
space in the building. Majority of the space will
be occupied by the Royal Customs Department followed
by the Immigration Department. These departments have
2 months until 1st September 2007 to familiarize themselves
with the facilities provided in the premise before
it will operational to light vehicles, passenger buses,
motorcycles and pedestrians. During that period, entry
and exit to all heavy goods vehicles will be through
the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs and Immigration Complex
in Gelang Patah until 1st January 2009 whereby by
that time the Permanent Link will be fully completed
and the new complex can cater for all types of vehicles.
