Custom Marine Training Center at Tanjung Surat is one of components of the Southern Integrated Gateway. It is to replace the existing Custom Marine base in Tanjung Puteri. It can accommodate 100 trainees at any one time.
On the 24th December 2007, Yg. Bhg. Dato’ Seri Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Hamid, the Director General of Malaysian Royal Custom paid a visit to the training center. The entourage consist of 20 custom officers arrived at the Tg. Surat jetty at 9.00 am. After snack, the Director General was briefed on the project by Tn. Hj. Zahar Atan, Senior Construction General Manager ( Architect ) of JKR GSB. This was followed by lunch.
In the afternoon the DG toured the new training center and had discussion with the Custom officers in the meeting room.
